look what I found

I just about freaked when I saw these. I have never, ever, EVER seen anything like these! Vintage pinwhale corduroy baby booties with tiny celluloid rattles tied on the toes. The rattles are little smiling faces with the most adorable green beanies on their heads. Can you believe this?! Think about how old they are. What are the chances of these rattles still being in place on the toes, much less in such fantastic condition? The shoes still have the hang tag on them!

I am seriously wanting to buy these. They were just listed today and they’re sure to be snatched up quick. I wanted to give my loyal peeps a chance to get them, so go! Go now! Before my temptation gets the best of me.

I know I sound like I’ve lost my mind, but these things are just fabulous. Did I mention I have NEVER seen anything even close to these? And I’ve seen a LOT of vintage baby. Wishing you luck! (And no, I’m not affiliated with the seller believe it or not.) This seller also has another pair of vintage wool booties in the original packaging! LOVING THESE! Check them out!

I came across this seller on Etsy, Rosebud Cottage, who has a to-die-for collection of vintage hair pretties. I’ve tagged about a dozen vintage barrettes. They seem to sell quickly (I lost a few I should have jumped on.) and new ones pop up, so check in often and you’re sure to find a must-have.

I’m smitten on the idea of sharing these barrettes with my little girl. I totally admit I would wear these myself and I know she would love them too. Vintage chic at its best! Here’s some of my favorites I’ve tagged, but you can find the entire collection here.

Here’s the latest piece of adorable I came across the other day — Baby’s Nest Egg (vintage baby bank). Pretty and practical — especially in today’s economy!

I could see this displayed in the nursery, added to baby’s Easter basket, or gifted to an expectant mom at her baby shower (with maybe a little cha-ching inside). And as special and rare as it is, it’s lightweight and not very big which makes it an easy keepsake to cherish and pass on to the grandbabies.

1950s Baby’s Nest Egg Vintage Bank: One available. You can purchase this little treasure here for little more than a song. (This seller is in no way affiliated with The Baby Gardner. We cannot vouch for the seller.) This one is sure to be grabbed up quick!

dresser1Thought I might start a new type of post for the blog. Occasionally I find the most tempting vintage-baby treasures to buy, but for whatever reason (perhaps because I have no place to put it) I don’t follow through with the sale. But it dawned on me that now I don’t have to sadly press my nose against the shop window (okay, so most of the time it’s more like a computer screen than a shop window, but you get the idea). Now I can pass all those hidden treasures to you! Just consider me your personal shopper.

Now there is a catch. Most of these things I find are usually authentic vintage and one-of-a-kind, so when you see these posts, you better jump fast if the item strikes your fancy. And if you’re not looking to buy, hopefully you’ll at least enjoy the eye candy.

Here’s my latest find. These are so hard to find in good condition, with really sweet graphics, and with all the pieces present. I’m serious when I say, if I had a place to put this, it would already have a home. I even thought about using it as a desk organizer (you know, the whole vintage Baby Gardner thing), but my desk is pretty cramped for space as it is. So I hope one of you out there will have the perfect spot ready for this adorable vintage piece.
